Comments: I got married on 22/11/2007...I am the only son of my parents, my 3 sister are married (before my marriage) & well setteled. I live with my parents in very good double story parental house. I do designing & desktop publishing business on computer from my house.

The girl is very short tempered, manglik & has no brain.....she do whatever her mother says. Sexually she has problem from marriage. She feels pain durting intercorse & she is suffering vaginal infection from marriage....I have taken treatment for her from many doctors but the disease is not controlable. So she doesn't like sex.

But due to my very adjustable nature everything was ok. wife very much likes nonveg but in my house that is not allowed...So we had eaten in hotels near about 10 times in a month. Girl had a problem if we could cook nonveg at home & her second problem was her parents were unable to come & stay with me due to my parents.

But my marriage life was going good by the grace of God i have found a son named Vish on 1st Feb., 2004. but after the birth of my son my mom had fallen ill with so many diseases....on my marriage her weight was 80 kg.....now her weight is 42 kg.

in between this my father-in-law was offering me help for seperation from my parents....but I did not take interest in his talking.

On 31st Dec., 2005 my wife suddenly took all the jewellery, 6 lacks cash (which I had collected from diff. sources for purchasing a shop) & to my son & went away from my parental house, when i was absent.

in the night I talked to her father & he says, if u want to live with her just give up your parents & take a seperate house & your 3 sisters live seperately....& he will come to see my seperate house first then he will send her....& if u r unable to take a seperate house then this will the end of relation & humara hisab kar dena aur karwahi hogi.

One year passed silentely....neither I did something nor she....but her only brother was giveing me threat on phone that he will send me to jail. So for safety my advocate advised me to file sec 9....So I filled this on 5th April, 2007 in local court.

On 14th july, 2008 my wife came here with Patiala police at 5 a.m. her brother, borther's friends were also with her.....local police was not with them...they attacked suddenly & catched all our mobile phones....phir sabne milkar daketi dali......whatever they can take....inspector said they we have complaint about all of u.....they arrested me & took me for Patiala.....they sent me 3 days in local jail & 2 days in central jail......

I had invested 2 lacks in MIS of post office from my saving accoung in the name of my wife.....she also took those MIS & she has transfered both MIS. After that she had also filed a 125 case & court has decided 3000/month for her & my son.

Now I m going on every date in Patiala & fighting against totally fraud cases....girl has written in report then we had thrown her in 3 cloths.....She was saying this also, when she came here with police.

She is enjoying with her parents....& taking 3000 from me & finding 1500 from both MIS as interest......& I am passing from hell.

Investigation officer has taken 35000 for removing the name of my parents & sisters from the case.......he was also offering me that girl's father is saying if u want to free all these cases then pay 5 lacks to her & take ur son back then they will close all the cases.

My marriage was doweryless, coz in punjabi's family there is not the trend of heavy marriages.......girl's parents had spend near about 2 or 2.5 lacks in my marriage....& she has taken 7 lacks in cash, 2 lacks in jewellery & 1 lacks in household goods....& we have spend 1.5 lacks in cases.

Now all these I m going to die......my work is not running well due to my mother's illness, these fraud cases & much tension....God is also not helping me.......really I m feeling very much hopeless....no way is for me......Plz advise me.

I am amit from pune, I got married in May 07 & till ten my wife started non cooperation with me & my parents.Starting from very small things now she has threatened me & my family to lodge a 498a OR DV against all of us.( there are so many thing to tell her cruelity & nonsense but due to space constraints i am unable to write all of them here)

We have tried to make patch up many times by going to counselor or by doing as per her wishes/likings.But ALL IN VAIN. She wants me to leave my parents & live the life as per her. But i can not leave my parents as they are now old & need my attention & also i think that its my duty to take care of them in their old days.

At last due to tremendous mental torture( My mother suffered from mild attck because of her abusing & Dad is already a heart patient) that she gave to me & my family, i straight away asked her to get mutual divorce so that she & her family ( We are dam sure that her mother is trying to do all worse things) to & me & my family could live with peace. But she just refused saying that 'Now you have made a mistake of marrying me & you have to suffer for that'.

At present she is living with me & not ready to go from my home also till date she has not made any police complaint (i think so).But i fear that she will launch soon as i am not ready to leave my parents.

What are the steps i should take to prevent my old parents first & get divorce from such women.
If any one could guide me that will be highly appreciated.

Comments: i got married on 3 feb 2008.on second night after asking her any affair with anyone before marriage she responded positively,being myself doctor she told her vaginal ulcer on examination i came to know as vagina is laxed and prolapse is coming.i send her to gyanaecological examintaion she was advised VDRL,URINE C/E,HIV.but she thrown the slip and not got tested.she used to have mobile as 15/-paise call and it can be checked she made how many calls in 2 months.i ignored the illicit relation before marriage,considering she has accepted it as mistake and forgiven her.girls parents took her back to home on 15 april 2008 when they felt that they have to be ashamed throughout the life for this to boy and his parents.they filed false charges against me of 323,but being truthful i got spared.they then started threatening that we will put dowry case or give us 6 lacs of rupees.the recorded documentation i started the day i started smelling foul.our law is giving all favour and i also threatened of being removed from govt.job they started asking 6 lacs rs,ultimately signed to 2 lacs.now the case is in front of court is to be filed for divorce,i wann fight the case but my relatives and parents are stopping.i have four evidences(males who had extensive sexual relations with girl),on police custody enquiry the number of her relations illict can come out this is going to create even HIV cases increment and as i also fear now having acquired or not i need help but laws are and wrong advocates linger on cases for years and i am mbbs doctor and research fellow in genetics,my whole future life is going to get spoiled,as i am to go abroad and it has became block for me, if such girls are not taken to custody and questioned and bring the facts in front.

I got married on 18th June 2006.This was an arranged marriage done with the consent of parents on either side.Before marriage I used to talk to the girl over the phone for 6 months.Most of the time she was not talking much and used to give the phone to her mother.
After marriage within some couple of days I came to know that the girl is having some mental problem.Most of the times she used to behave very irrationally.She started fighting with me with no reasons.Also she is having behavioral disorders.The reason for this was her IQ.Its so low that she is having social mal-adjustments.She is being abusive to my parents and sisters too.

From last two years we have been staying separate.Only some couple of meetings we stayed together.That was either at her house or my parents house.
After seeing her mental condition we talked to her parents.But they are not ready to accept taht she needs a proper treatment.
Also for last two years they havent sent their daughter to stay with me.They are not at all helping us in curing her mental condition.
Now they are asking me to stay with them at their house.We went through one marriage counselor in Bangalore and tried to do a patch up.But there also they started abusing me and my sisters and put false allegations against me.

Also they are continuously threatening me of dire consequences.They are saying that they will put a false dowry harassment case against all of us.We are very scared and dont know how to get out of all this mess.

Kindly help us and guide us what to do in this matter.We all three brother and sisters are working.My father is a retired govt. doctor.Mother is housewife.

I am overweight and highly educated person while my wife is B Tech in electronics. she worked after marriage in wipro bpo for 5 months and was drawing 10K per month. After a while, when she did not concieve she was shown by several doctors, but later was operated for laproscopic ovarian drilling, by famous dr bd mukherjee. she was constantly gaining weight and was thus always on side on increasing her pcod problem. i was in high profile job in private bank and woked till later hours, and hence could not give her time to have regular relations, despite her operations. i was also tested to have low semen count and hence both sufffered problem. only thing i had asked is to do a job so that her mental agony of childlessness will be diluted while doing her job and we can go for higher treatment in the matter of time, as I realized that these treatments become expensive with time, and since my wife also qualified, finally I wanted the best of times for her , I realized that while the treatment is on, if she does something constructive, it would take her min from the depressive state and gradually we would be able to bear a child. Meanwhile I was also tested for varicocele and thus was undergoing treatment. in meanwhile she gained weight after her operation and doctor mentioned if she continues to gain weight no doctor can treat her for her condition. she used to live a very comfortable life that is house was equipped with domestic help and she did not have to do much for maintaining the house hold, as my mother used to take care of all responsibilities. so she gradually grew frustrated and started doing orkut for time pass, initially she met her class mates in college and suddenly one day she got a call from her college boy friend in my mobile, which she had put in her orkut profile. later one day, she overheard the conversation of my mother that she should be taken to her parents house for proper treatment as she was complaining for her treatment was not proper, and her parents insisted that she was okay in all respects and she did not require any medical attention, while homeopathic treatment was okay for her. She confused this with my mother's planning to get her out of her home and walked out of house. later she reutred one morning when i was at office to take all her documents and medical records to her parental home. on seeing her boyfriend i her orkut profile, i was shocked and decided to call her father, who spoke to me with high disregard as though "you are not a fool" u come and meet me in my house. Taken aback I immediately sms him for a joint meeting by all members of family as i realized that the mater went for a worst turn. i also filed two general diary at local police station thinking that she was having no good intension and may implicate me in some false 498 case, which she did in 2006. meanwhile in order to know wheher my wife is serious about our marriage and want to save the relationship, i decided to post a matrimonial on the columns on bharath matrimony stating that i am seeking a re-marriage on mutual separation with my spouse. they have used this against me for cruelty, while they have not mentioned of her problem and her inability to have periods regularly. i have deleted my profile from bharath matrimony as because i was not serious in marriage but was only testing her true intensions, which is definitely proved to be against my good, as she also complained to my employer's corporate office that i was put into police custody and judicial custody for the 498a case.

She filed 498a and 406 for her shtreedhan and she was returned her streedhan the same day itself. while she wrote a letter to corporate office of the bank for having put into jail successfully hoping that my company would fire me or suspend me and I would be under pressure to yield to their demand for money. She immediately filed a case u/s 125 for maintenance of rs 35 k as she shown my salary with inflated figs two and half times of what I actually draw. Now two cases are pending sec 498a & sec125. pls guide me.

me and my wife got married on 26th Aug 2007. we had differences even before marriage but my wife got married to me by begging my parents saying that she wouldnot get married to anyone but me. my parents trusted her and i got married to her. we (only my wife and me) were staying in Hyderabad. when i went to my hometown to see my sick mother she packed all her things along with my valuables and left to her parents place. she started sending me messages accusing me and threatening by SMS. her cousin got involved and he started harassing me over the phone and through SMS's. i sent a legal notice to her to come and stay with me. she responded back by saying that all the claims that i made are false and baseless. i sent a rejoinder saying that i have all the proofs to prove what i claimed. she finally filed 498 A on me and 7 of other family members.

we had a discussion with the concerned Circle Inspector of the police and public prosecutor. we agreed to resolve it out of the court. the first round of discussions are on 27th April 2008. i have all the documents to prove that she harassed me rather than me harassing her. as my wife filed a case in her local town, she and her relatives have complete influence on the local police and the concerned public prosecutor.

i am not sure what to do now. Please help

At present all my family member is on bail.

At present this case is in local police station, since local police have not sent a chargesheet and final investigated report to court, so this case at present is not opened in the court.

Last year my family receives a marriage proposal for the daughter of a police officer against matrimonial advertisement. The engagement was arranged immediately only after 1 day from the date of initial meeting. The marriage was arranged in February 08. My parents and other family members arranged my marriage with full joy and all the rituals were performed as per HINDU RELIGION.

It was clearly advised to the family of the girl that we will not accept any dowry item. They agreed and never gave any dowry item except some cloths and ornaments to the daughter. They try to give some money in the shape of cheque on the day of the marriage but we refused to accept and returned the same immediately.

After the marriage, I spent only few days with my family and the family of my wife. The parents of the girl put a lot of pressure on me to take her to Chennai where I am working but I informed them that I yet to take flat because I was living as paying guest before marriage. I went back to my job during 3rd week of February but I have to come back within a week to take her to Chennai. We live together in Chennai for about 3 weeks, first in a hotel and then in the company’s guest house.

One day the girl informed me about her past relations with one of her colleague and I get surprised why she informed about that relations and I got tense then she gave me her email password and yahoo messenger password where I saw few emails and chat session and afterwards the girl said I don’t want to live with you and she used lot of objectionable comments about me and my family because she belongs to a rich and influential family and threat me in terms of life and arrest of my family under dowry act. I was badly scared because her father is a high police officer and other relatives are at high judicial posts and keep quite and request her that I am ready to forget your past and then we lived together for another week and come back to Jalandhar on 21 March to celebrate holi with family.

After a day the girl start talking that I beat her in Chennai very badly and she don’t want to live with me. She insult me and my family members very badly and said I want to go my parents home immediately then I have to send SMS to her father to take her away for the time being. The parents of the girl come to our home at abuse my sister, mother and other members of the family very badly and took her away.

The next morning I went to the paternal house of my wife with my parents but they refused to send her back and informed that we will send her back after 2-3 days. I also met relatives of the girl and visited my in-laws once again but they refused to send her back and abused me and insulted me a lot also threats that she was call police and arrest me. Then I left with no other alternative but to go back to Chennai.

The girl is living at her parent’s home from last 3 weeks. My family members and my relatives went to the paternal home of the girl to take her back several times but my in-laws insult everyone very badly and threats and also refused to send her back and need break-up and also demand huge money that I can’t even consider. They are threatening us to not to disclose the anything in the society and pay the money amicably and settle down the matter but they are spreading the news in the city that I am a drug addict and I beat their daughter a lot and took her like a prisoner in Chennai to take sympathy of the society. They also threat my family members every day to arrange money and sign the documents for immediate divorce otherwise they will frame some wrong case of opium against my family. My father in law also threat that he will kill all my family members and he will get all the VIP treatment in the jail being a high police officer if he booked for murder. The family of my in-laws is very influential and we can’t even utter a word against them.

We are under immense pressure and can’t sleep at night due to the mental torture. My entire family is weeping regularly at home from last several days and we can’t discuss or seek some help from anyone.

My marriageable sister and elder sister in-law is living at my home town with parents and brothers and all of them are under an immense pressure and being tortured by my in-laws. We can’t file a request for protection neither at the district or high court nor at police station because the other party belongs to police and judiciary services and very sound and nobody will listen to us or help whereas if the other party knows about our complaint they can kill all of us. My life and the lives of other family members are in danger and we are helpless.

My in-laws are threatening to file a case of dowry or domestic violence against me and my family members to create harassment to fulfill their demand of hefty amount of money.

I never disclosed the identity of the in-laws of my son in the above request because I am under threat that they may come to know about this email and our position will be worst. I will definitely disclose the identity of the other party immediately upon receipt of some reply or advice from your side.

The same thing again I could nt go for any outings with her. Once in the morning they went to watch a movie with out my knowledge.

Then in the month of June they went back. In the month of 7th July my parents came to del. In 10th July she had a fight with my mother in a small pretext. I asked her becoz she is elder to you go and ask for a apology and then her father started threating me from mumbai next day I was very upset and told him this is the only solution I feel if u have any thing else then do it. By the evening her faher sent her flight tickets. When I came home I got the news . Then I started a compromise and asked them to solve the difference but they were negative she went with in 11July. 4 days after my parents arrived in Del. For next seven days I tried to compromise but they did nt and instead her father threatened me of dire consequences. She was using a sim in my name from mumbai during those days. So I went to a lawyer and by his advice closed the sim and got a stamped complaint from police station that she has left my house with all her belongings and an small investigation was held for that by police. I also send a registry to the Local SP. After a month sudenly her father arrived and took her rest of the clothes. I called her that night and said lets finish the issue but it was a negation. I sent her Bday gifts but she refused. My lawyer called them to ask wat they want but again they were negative. So in MOnth of Feb 2008 I filed a divorce case based on cruelity. IN reply they filed a cruelity case in MUmbai. I am not sure if they have filed 498A as I moved out of the city and I did not got the summon. But I learnt they have filed the case after I have filed.

MY question is : Suppose I am in a different city if they dont find anyone will they send the summon to my permanent addresse as my parents are staying there and they have also raised a complain against my mother.

On the very first night of my conjugal life I came to understand why she was giving me presure for marriage. Her vagina was bleeding, and her navel was so much swelled and looked soured. Her abdomen was over swelled. She confessed that she had been carrying tumours in her overies and uterous, and the long scar on her lowe belly is for the earlier operatin in Medical College for her overian cyst some years ago. I was shocked, because my dream is turned to dust. I started seeing her doctor. But she threatened me not to disclose the serious ailments to my parents. So did I. And she stated living in her uncles house to hide her treatment and operation. The dcotor amputated all her overies and uterous and falopine tube. She is beyond to conceive any baby, which was confirmed much earlier. She never came back to my home, she did many torture to me lest I should disclose all her vice. Since then we had no relation for the last 5 years, and finally on 16.0.2006 when I was arrested alongwith my brothr, only then I came to know that she had filed 498A/406 followed by 125 Crpc. She got a stay from the High Court against the Family Court order to handover the child to me. The earlier Family Court order giving me interim custody stands on date. High Court has granted me visiting rights, and my daughter decided on her own to spend an extra day last Mon, Ugadi, and wife could do nothing about it. DVA petition was attempted against me in 10.07, but for reasons unknown to me, I was not served. I was sent a legal notice for divorce in 2.08 by my wife, but it was not followed. I turned down divorce. Money extortion is evident.

In marriage I had received a Maruti ALTO Lxi car for which we we have not received even the RC of taht car and this car is in the name of my father-in-law. at least 1000 times i asked for papers but never received any response from them. in absence of papers one cant drive a car in delhi, even many times police caught me on road and becoz of this when i dont drive that car, tahn my wife started fighting with me alleging thati need a bid acr in dowry tahts why i dont drive this ALTO and always talf about to sell this one. After this thet didnt turned on 5 march and my father in law went to taht concerned lawyer and said that all the papers made by him are in favour of boys side and in these her daughter is getting nothing so they would not consider these papers and would hire a new lawyer.

In past 2 years my mother in law never spoke with me, father i law too has only spoken thrice, and i never went to their home. Since last April 2007 even my wife is at her own house and doing job there, here in our home and there are two members myself and my mother, my brother and bhabhi stay away at agra and my sister and jeeju also stay away in same city i.e ghaziabad but their home is near to ours.

Comments: What if False cases are filed under Sec.498-A without any convictions by the wives?They are just let off,unless the Husband files for defamation against his spouse at the higher courts.Why are not wives jailed or punished for the abuse of Sec.The trauma after such false cases on the boy,his parents,sister,brother and sometimes even small child who is not spared is horrifying.Senior Citizens are jailed without any proofs.Even in Murder cases proofs are required to convict the guilty.Wives just want to settle their scores by asking Hugh amounts from the In-Laws,so that she can withdraw the case.Isn't such a demand of hers from his husband &In-Laws tantamount to a DOWRY? What a mockery of such a Section,which has been introduced for guarding her from the evils of dowry,is being used by her to extract money in such a way.I am also a victim of Sec498-A & fighting the evils of it.She filed Sec.498-A against me & my parents to take revenge on us,as I had filed Divorce petition(We were poles apart)prior to her filing.All false charges against my Daddy & Mummy were narrated(My father used to hit her,pull her by hair daily-My mother never used to give her food & I used to thrash her every day)My father is 70 yrs.-is a Heart-patient who had undergone By-pass surgery-My mother is 67 yrs.-Both being senior citizens.We were not arrested as divorce was filed earlier & are on Bail.Would like to know that all the 3 witnesses filed in FIR by her have denied having seen such harassment being meted out by my family to the Police & have refused to give anything in writing.What will be status of the case as we are in a very bad shape of mind.I had earlier thought of committing suicide as literally I cry daily when alone,pondering what have I done that I & my parents had to go through such a traumatic experience in life.Please help us.

I sponsered the girls parents to usa after her delivery for 3.5 months and they were very happy for the complete stay.

In the middle discussion girls elder brother in-law man handled me in my house before filing the case on me when i was trying to prove the mistake of his wife ( my wifes elder sister) who use to teachmy wife how to control the husband and kick the in-laws out the mind of Husband from vizag in chats and phones. other than this we never had any major issues in usa.

we were kept in police station for 6 days for before sending to court to put more pressure and hrassment so that we will accept all there demands. Later they tried to expose to Media and newspaper too. to put more pressure on us, but we never bended to it and now the case is in the court.

We came out of jail ( myself , mother and father) on bail.

Its now already 1 month 4 days i have not seen my cute little son and offcourse my wife who filed case.

Can you please suggest me some guidence like what i need to do at this stage with this basic description.

Basically I am an NRI living in London and my first marriage lasted 10 yrs from which I have a son who is 11yrs old, my first wife passed away due to kidney failure in 2001, after which I got remarried in 2005. I was extremely happy in my first marriage and looked after my first wife's kidney illness for 5yrs

I got remarried in India to start to get my life back together and also to get some support for my son as it was becoming difficult to manage as a single parent. Marriage only lasted 17 months, for some of the reasons you stated in your websites. It was an arranged marriage in Mumbai India. We have now been separated for 1 yr and have agreed to proceed with divorce, I have given her back all the things she bought when we got married which wasn’t of hugh value anyway(gold etc). I have also given her lacs of rupees of gold that I purchased for her at the time of the marriage not knowing about the 'streedhan' act, but my intent was to look after her. I bore the complete expense of marriage in India and did NOT ask of any dowry or gifts from her or anyone in her family. In fact I bought lacs of rupees of gold at the time of marriage which I have given to her already. I am a decent person and the biggest proof of this is my first wife's in-laws who have the highest regards for me as a son in law to look after their sick daughter. We are so close even 7 yrs after her passing away that they treat me in high regard even compared to their one and only son, as I tend to often look after them and give moral support

After marriage,in a day I arranged her visas to flew back with her to London 2 days after we got married. I never shouted at her, treated her with a lot of respect, was VERY considerate with her about the fact that she was adjusting to a new country etc. We have never consummated the marriage as there was a serious cleanliness problem with her which inspite of genuinely trying we couldn’t work it out. In addition my son's complete behaviour and character changed when she lived with us. He become a lot more quieter as he felt depressed with how she was in the house

Before marriage, she was a well earning professor in a big college in Gujarat. I hear from my sources in Gujarat that she may have resumed a job (cant be sure) but she is not satisfied with the lacs of rupees of gold I gave her that she claims as hers anyway because of the streedhan law. I have also offered cash now to make the total sum up to 10Lacs (with the gold) but she is asking for exorbitant amounts of money now. Her monthly pay before marriage that she never told me about as she never trusted me, but I am guessing was around 15-20,000 rupees per month, What I am giving her for a 17month relationship is approximately 10 times her net worth before the marriage !!!

I have asked my legal counsellor in Mumbai and they have said to do nothing and her demands will come down and they will ultimately settle. This experience has left me so sour that I cannot imagine ever remarrying specially if I risk security for my only son. I am very concerned to give the relationship another chance because I don’t feel I can trust her with my son.

In your opinion what do you suggest I should be doing further to protect me and my family? My old parents live in Mumbai and I am concerned that she might file an completely false FIR using the 498a clause which will cause a lot of distress to them. Can she cause any issues to me in the UK.?

I would be very disheartened to give away more money that was real hard saving by my first wife and its actually meant for security for a motherless child, my son who lives with me

Any advise or help you can offer in terms of pointing me to previous victims in these cases(specially NRIs) who have very successfully managed to handle this. That will be a big help in terms of someone guiding me?, I also read in your website about proposed amendments suggested by IOFW to the dowry act, have those amendments now taken place? Or is it still easy for brides to file a false compliant with the police under 498a and get us into trouble
